Drzewiecki Design has released a freeware rendition of Warsaw-Radom Airport (EPRA) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. The airport serves Radom, Poland, with an average of 112,610 passengers annually.
Originally built in early 1929 as a training facility for Poland’s first civilian pilot training school, the airport was transferred to military control in 1932. The military expanded the site by acquiring additional land and constructing hangars, barracks, and a shooting range. It became a training center for military pilots and paratroopers.
During World War II, the airport was heavily bombed, destroying aircraft and some hangars, forcing evacuation. The Germans occupied the airport and used it to train pilots for combat on the Eastern Front. By the war’s end, the airport was damaged and mined, requiring efforts by the Polish Army to restore it. Since mid-1945, pilot training has continued at the site.
